Doug Dawson’s award winning
pastel paintings reflect the diverse interests of this
articulate, philosophical and caring artist. His work
features urban night scenes, cityscapes, portraits and
magical landscapes. The luminescent night scenes
powerfully evoke the mystique of the dark; his portrait
studies are rich with personality. Doug shares his love of
the outdoors through emotion-filled landscapes which range
in focus from intimate rural scenes to sweeping vistas.
Doug is a celebrated member
of the American Watercolor Society, the Pastel Society of
the Southwest, The Knickerbocker Artists (New York) and
the Pastel Society of America. His work has been included
in prestigious exhibitions with The Charles and Emma Frye
Art Museum, Seattle, WA ( a one person show), the Denver
Art Museum, the Heritage Museum, Norfolk, Virginia, the
John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, the Hunter
Museum of American Art, Chattanooga, TN and the Societe
Des Pastellistes de France International Exhibition (Palais
Rameau - Lille, France)
